A large international software provider had teams occupying 4 buildings in Dublin and needed to close 3 properties to move 3,500 staff into a new HQ. Working with their chosen move project management company Premier Workplace Services were one of four firms invited to tender, and successfully secured the contract to provide moves and sustainable clearance services.
Premier provided a move manager to collaborate on the planning and implementation of the staff migration programme which totalled 3,500 team members. The allocated time frame for the project was 9 weeks, however due to delay in the building works, the programme of delivery was changed to 5 weeks, with the date for completion the 31st December to ensure the client adhered to lease breaks and met no financial penalties.
The project was split into three phases with weekend moves allocated to ensure minimal disruption to normal business.
To alleviate the reduced time frame, non-essential items such as soft furnishings and gym equipment were moved during the weekdays prior to a weekend move. Premier’s flexibility allowed for the provision of additional resources at these key times to not only fulfil our service requirements but to assist other suppliers who had limited resources over the festive period. Over 70 operatives were deployed per shift during peak relocation and clearance periods, with support provided on the Monday following relocation.
Premier Systems IT provided expert management of the relocation of IT, including initial user audit, decommission and recommission as well as post-move support following each weekend move to ensure a complete service delivery.
Following the departure from each area of the buildings, Premier’s team effectuated the sustainable clearance. A dedicated manager planned and facilitated the sustainable delivery of the building exit programme within the tight time restraints. The clearance was undertaken with a focus on reuse as a priority, with items being resold or donated via Premier’s Giving Back Project as appropriate. All waste items not suitable for remanufacture or reuse were recycled according to best practice and compliant with all environmental legislation. In total the building clearances required over 220 vehicle loads removed for the sustainable clearance of the furniture and equipment.
