It was a bit chilly last week (as you may have probably noticed), but the sub-zero temperatures didn’t stop 187 property professionals from 63 companies sleeping out on the streets to raise money for London’s young homeless. Premier has been supporting this event for four years now and this year was the biggest yet, as City YMCA partnered with Land Aid to help bring greater awareness to their cause.
The evening raised over £150,000 for City YMCA London’s new home for homeless young Londoners, with every penny raised going towards this new accommodation, due to open in the summer of 2019.
Land Aid’s Chief Executive gave a speech emphasising the importance of raising awareness for youth homelessness and how the money raised will help improve the lives of those in need. He passed on a big thank you to all the headline sponsors and event supporters, including Premier.
City YMCA Appeal Director Chris East also thanked event supporters: “Huge thanks to Premier Moves, Pret and Old Spitalfields Market for your generous support for last night’s SleepOut in partnership with LandAid. The evening raised over £150,000 for City YMCA London’s new home for homeless young Londoners, LandAid house. Well done one and all.”
Phil Oram - part of Premier’s Sleep Out team four years ago and who has run three London Marathons for City YMCA - congratulated the fundraising team: “Premier was more than happy to support this event by supplying 500 cardboard packing boxes to help provide some basic comfort for those braving the big chill, we hope they provided some warmth. City YMCA carries out critical work with London’s young homeless, which is needed now more than ever. Well done!”
